Subtle programming changes on V-103

Apparently, Reggie Rouse has made some subtle shifts in programming on V-103. As mentioned in an earlier thread, the Sunday old school show has been officially reduced to 2 from 3 hours, thus removing the hour-long regular mixing by DJ Herb from the time slot.

Also as of August 14, Greg Street will only do night (6-10PM) from Monday through Fridays. This is a move allowing the well received "The Takeover with Lil' Bankhead and DJ Infamous" (which formerly heard from 2-5AM, very early on Saturday mornings) to officially have a timeslot during the daytime hours on Saturday nights from 6-10PM.

Now the 2 last moves are the official announcement of who will take over weekday middays from 10AM to 2PM, and if or when there will be a replacement host for "The Quiet Storm" slow jams show from 10PM to 2AM Sunday through Thursday.

I spoke with Reggie at the CBS PPM luncheon last week. Of course, he wouldn't reveal anything. As far as midday, he said they were going to have a meeting about it this week. And when I asked if he plans to hire someone for late nights, he said yes, he certainly hopes to.

Yeah, he and Rick Caffey are very secretive about most major announcements. Also Roddy, did he or Rick have any thing to say about the July overall report? I know they are still #1, but they are used to having a larger than 1.0-2.0 share over the 2nd highest station?

The ratings presentation is given by someone from a company called Research Director, Inc. He did show the month-by-month graph of ratings but didn't dwell on it. He remarked that he knows of no other Urban station with the historical dominance of V-103. He said when he compares the top shares of all PPM market stations in the U.S., V-103 is sometimes #1 but is always in the top 4. Rick Caffey basically welcomed everyone and turned things over to Scott Jameson of Dave FM, who introduced his personalities. Then Scott brought on Reggie, who introduced his personalities.

You guys obviously weren't kidding about the program changes. As I'm typing up this post on early Sunday morning, I'm listening to a new weekly public affairs called "Sunday Straight Talk" during the 5:30 A.M. half hour. They used to play their regular rotation during this time. "Sunday Straight Talk" obviously lasts 45 minutes. Now, they've cued up "Sunday Morning Praise" with Larry Tinsley. I'm thankful that they still air it on Sunday mornings.

Yeah, it seems like Sundays is pretty much still intact as it has been in the past. The things that have changed are subtle to the average listener.
