Suddenly Tornadoes Aren't So Bad?

How's the local radio helping with weather up there? Are they giving road closures? What the hell is going on? Did anyone see the hurricane-like spinning low pressure forming over the great lakes?I ask all of this because my wife just called and said my house on the north shore is flooding...Whoo Hoooooooo

By "local" radio do you mean the Boston market because in scanning around if I didn't know there was a problem radio never would have told me.Some chick on Magic was talking about light rain in the back bay.WROR may or may not have been running one of their jockless weekends since there's very little difference in what they sound like staffed vs nonstaffed.

I think MIKE played 'It's Raining Men' which was about as accurate as the rest of the weather forecasts.

Hey Paul,If your looking for a serious answer Boston Radio really isn't going nuts on it. So far most of the damage has been limited to Essex county and Southern NH. Downtown Peabody has been getting extensive TV coverage both local and national. Road and school closure's have been on the news and traffic reports and WBZ's news feeds. But that really is the only impacted area. I don't think most folks in the Boston area really know how bad some of those areas are being hit.If you'd like to listen to all the scanner activity in that area. Go to this site and follow the instructionshttp://scancapecod.us/xoops/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=3 They have an excellent Essex County feed going on their Teamspeak server. You'd think it was another place form listening to all the rescues and evacuations. Its a little complicated but a great local feed.

I don't know who did what in Boston yesterday but people who listen to Boston radio do drive to other areas. It wouldn't have been out of line for music stations in the city to at least make some mentions of where not to drive & what conditions are in hard-hit areas.
