SUE COPE LEAVING WROR

"Yay"? Hopefully that's in exuberance of the husband's promotion, and not the prospect of no longer hearing her on the local airwaves.

Or, more likely, a restrained "whoop-dee-doo"! ;D

What I never understood was why it often sounded like the mic she was on was undermodulated and tinny.

It wasn't her voice, that was fine. But, L&W always sounded big and booming, then Sue sounded miked too low and thin in comparison. Was she put in a booth with bad mic EQ?

I have never understood the staying power of L&W, or Tom Doyle.

They have survived every format change, every ownership change, you name it they have managed to survive, they are the cockroaches of radio.

And for some reason they manage to pull down decent ratings.

Now the 64 cent question is who will they replace her with, if anyone?

Not that I have any idea about programing, but from what I have heard they rely on having a woman in the studio for a lot of their shtick to work.

If they want to go the "cheap" way - they'll have Hank Morse (who is already there doing traffic) just add news duties. The news on the show is more conversational and concise now with PPM.

My guess is they would not want an all-male morning show. My vote goes to Mauzy Stafford.

Since I've always been a Mauzy fan, I agree with you. She fills in for Sue on occasion anyway and has "news credentials" from her time on Oldies 103 (when it was known as Oldies 103) with Uncle Dale.

Hank already does news (and traffic?) on WKLB and possibly other stations as well.

Gotta say, I will miss Sue - I guess I'm in the minority here...I love Loren & Wally (and Tom Doyle), and am glad that I can stream the show down here in Jersey (and podcast it when I sleep in).

And Wall's "Records From Home" usually make sitting in traffic on our Route 1 bearable...

Well there is a new woman on the morning team and she is a giggle factory, totally annoying and I have no idea what her value add is. Hank is doing news with an equally annoying music bed....why.

I heard the new chick trying to do the news at 6am...what a train wreck. I don't think she could read the Sunday comics without screwing up. If this is a tryout....better start looking. Her name is Lauren hyphen(didn't catch it)-Falconi and she sucks. She sounds about 16 which might be attractive to some but a ditdz.....

My $.02

Lauren Becham Falcone, Daughter of a Herald columnist and a Herald writer herself.

No way she can be the permanent cast member, she is a disaster.

As for Mauzy she goes waaay back in Boston radio to the days of Kick Ass Rock N Roll WCOZ where she was an air talent.
