Suggested New Slogan For KTRH

"... If it's happening now.... wait until tomorrow morning between 5 and 9 a.m., but then all we will tell you is a link to our web site to read a bit about the news and see the amusing video of the day."

I want full time news radio back.

Snoozeradio 740 KTRH. "The official station of the Republican Party."

Here are my suggestions -

KTRH - for those who only scan the newspaper headlines!

Do you have a short attention span? Listen to - what are the call letters again?

Knowledge Transcends Rigor Humorously

No news is good news - and we prove that every day!

Keep Turning Right, Houston!

And no list would be complete without the old standby, for those who work there:

"Keep That Résumé Handy"

When I worked there in the early 90s

the call letters stood for "Kome To Radio Hell." We all felt like we'd died and gone to hell. That's what it felt like then. Still does, or so I'm told.

JD wins! That's both clever and funny. Hope they use it. At least hope those that are there believe it and take action.

FYI to Bill Cherry -- Keep The Resume Handy has been the the byword at KTRH for as long as I can remember, going all the way back to the 70s. I worked there in the late 70s doing call-in shows, and while the working conditions were OK, there was almost constant turnover and we always joked about keeping the resume up to date and ready to mail out.

After ten years in east Texas, I came back to KTRH in the late 80s, and the joke was still there, only it wasn't a joke anymore. Under GM Michael Packer and his successors, the joke became a grim and dark reality. That's what life is like under people who manage by intimidation, and by making sure that you live each day in fear of losing your job.

It's so sad. It has been well over 25 years since KTRH was a fun place to work.
