Suggestions for 950 ESPN (WPEN-AM)

I would like you to post your suggestions on what 950 ESPN should do to improve ratings, etc. I would like the station to carry more ESPN radio and other national/local play by play sports broadcasts in addition to what they are airing now and also add more local sports talk programming on the weekends. What are you suggestions?

When in town four days a month I have sampled the product. It needs drastic help.
There is no pizazz, or wow factor. The hosts don't create enough urgency so they continue to lag behind WIP.
We were in for the holiday weekend, why in the world do they have NO sports AM programming? That was a joke.
In fact, the host for the ESPN Radio shows is a big Philly guy based out of Atlanta! This makes zero sense.
How about someone actually coaching Mike and Jodie and making their shows tighter?
WPEN needs new blood and new energy. They have not found it.

More play by play will not make the station sound better or reach a greater audience. If they had the Phillies contract or 76ers or Flyers, yes it would help. But carrying national sports PBP will do nothing in this market.
few people care about teams outside their area. True, football fans root for teams in other cities, but these days all the games are on TV. The fans will be watching, not just listening.

You may have hit the ball right out of the park, Marc ...

I think you're right. But the need to do it better than WHAT is doing it.

I wish they would move Jody Mac back to late afternoons for my drive home.

I don't listen on the weekend... are they still airing infomercials? If so, I think it would be a dumb move for an ESPN affiliate to not air College Gameday on Saturday afternoons in the fall.
