Suggestions for late AM (Eastern) talk show?

Hi all...could use some help finding a winning show to put on from 10a to noon (Eastern). The lead-in is a 90-minute local call-in show; we transition into an expanded news block at noon, followed by Michael Smerconish at 12:30. We currently run Dennis Miller 10a to noon but have decided he's a poor fit. Laura Ingraham's out, as is ARNN (for reasons already echoed by other posts on this board). Another N/T in the market (which we also own) is already running Glenn Beck. We've thought about simulcasting him, but that seems weak to me.

If you're having luck with a great syndicated show from 10a to noon (Eastern), I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Dave Ramsey on delay? Free Talk Live? There are a lot of "out of the box" answers to this question that might or might not be right for your station.

What's wrong with Dennis Miller? Not conservative enough? Not liberal enough? Too esoteric for your audience? Business reasons not having anything to do with the show content?

All of those things would factor into any advice someone might give. Personally, as a listener, I don't know how I'd react to only getting part of a syndicated show, and there aren't too many just 10-noon options. Maybe more local content is the answer, since most of the options I can find with a quick search aren't so hot.

Edit: GCN has Josh Tolley from 10-noon Eastern time. I have never heard the guy, but there's a syndicated show that fits your time slot.

Thanks for the suggestions...I'll check into them. I'd love the 'more local content' option but resources won't allow that.

As for Dennis Miller, I guess I'd go the "too esoteric" route. His seemingly aimless ramblings and way-out tangents lose a lot of our listeners -- and, I'll admit, they lose me as well.

Is Neal Boortz available in your market?

IIRC a lot of his affiliates carry the show 10AM-Noon.

I like his show, but some folks disagree (you there Holland?)

Boortz is not good on any type of delay. I was at a station that had him on the air, time shifting from noon to 3pm. He often gave out the time and did other small things that worked great when live (and east coast) but not when delaying.

My favorites:

Dr. Dalia (just got picked by GCN)

Leslie Marshall show

Free talk live

All three have great energy and I believe are the next generation of radio

10AM-12Noon would be live for Boortz.

Really?

God help us.

I should point out that the aforementioned "Dr. Daliah" is actually live from 9 PM-12 Midnight ET during the week - but it can be plugged in at any time you want, as long as you don't mind it being pre-recorded. (Full disclosure: I currently run her show Monday-Friday at 4 PM on my own Internet station.)

Aren't we all armchair "MNF" directors? ::)

Although sometimes the Doctor leans a little too much to the right, her knowledge base on all topics is very impressive. And in my personal extensive experience with doctors I have never seen anyone so full of personality and humor.

I stand by my previous suggestions but also agree that Boortz is an excellent choice as well.
