Suits have taken over STO?

Maybe just my imagination, but...are talk hosts in suits slowly taking over Sports Time Ohio?

No golf shirts & dockers?

Matt & Rick have been in suits for all 4 games so far this baseball season. Bruce Drennan has been wearing suits recently. Somebody filling in for Bruce over the weekend had a suit on.

Maybe dressing up is returning to America, and business casual is dead, huh? Ahhhh....nah.

I feel like we're sitting in on a Wall Street meeting...not watching sports. Ridiculous! Probably something a consultant told them. (Maybe the owner of Mens Warehouse....I guarantee it! LOL).

Drennan has always been a semi-regular suit wearer on "All Bets Are Off". He does his fair share of dressing down as well.

Chuck Galetti never wears a suit on "Chuck's Last Call".

Matt and Rick (and most MLB announce teams) wear suits and ties in the booth. Once the weather warms back up, they'll switch to golf shirts and kahkis.

And Gene Winters (Drennan's producer/sidekick) was filling in on Sunday night...maybe he dressed up to impress the top men so as maybe to get his own show.

Consultants are the ruination of radio. What works in Atlanta does not necessarily work in Cleveland. Why radio stations waste money getting consultants opinions I will never understand.

I don't think wearing suits would ruin STO. People are still going to tune in and see the games and talk shows. The main draws are Indians, Chuck and Drennan.

Speaking of STO, I noticed a former FOX 8 staffer doing some reporting for the channel.

My comment about suits was more just a casual observation. Just don't think sports and dressing up don't seem to mix that well, IMHO. But, no big deal.

Rumors going around that STO might be sold. If that happens look for new owners to cut salary. Bruce Drennan will be shown the door most likely and that will end his career. WTAM and WKNR are not bringing him back. STO could easily slide Galeti into the 3-6 slot and Gene Winters get Galeti's slot at night.

STO's fine as it is and can get even better with a nightly news show. I hope whoever buys it doesn't ruin the channel. No reason to do so.

Why would you want news on a local/regional sports channel?

I think he meant a sports news show, a la "Sports Center".

Yes. I was thinking along the lines of "SportsNite" like CSN Chicago or the old "Ohio Sports Report," done better than that of course.
