Summer 2010 Arbitrons Released

I noticed that WGTY swelled to a 5.4 point victory (11.2 to 6.8) over 2nd place in the York market - huge

Looks as if Arbitron is becoming less relevant with every book since
Cumulus not subscribing and now Citadel. One things for sure
glad Arbitron is not one of the stocks that I own.

Citadel, Cumulus and many of the rest are actually showing up in the book. Arbitron has chosen to only publicly publish those who subscribe to prevent non-subscribers from sneakily pointing advertisers to websites such as these. Strange, yes, but we tend to forget that Arbitron is a for-profit company not a government funded service like the census.

Indeed, I realize that they are showing up. My point is directed at the fact
that arbitron is losing tons of revenue by many of the big corporate
operators electing not to subscribe....that was my point, and the fact
that they are compelled not to subscribe shows that Cumulus, Citadel
etc. are not seeing arbitron as a necessity anymore.

It has never been a necessity for stations to buy Arbitron as long as the agencies making the ad buys subscribe. It is a nicety, a luxury...kinda of like cable. You think you can't live without it until you do.

With all that said....does anyone who HAS the information on the stations not listed in the public report want to stick their neck out and share with us. I won't tell!

Ronnie Ramone usually has ratings info. Want to share with us?

As stated above, the agencies know. If a station has a good relationship with one, I'm sure they can get the info.

Interesting to see what kind of year lies ahead in Central PA radio.
