I found it interesting seeing WEJZ in second place overall just beating out WQIK. Now I'm beginning to wonder if Renda's introduction of WGNE to Jax as a country station was designed to chip away at WQIK. Given QIK has two competitors and is likely to have numbers go down, it would seem WEJZ would benefit since they are often positioned close together in overall ratings. Something that makes you go hmmmm.

Personally, I was pleased to see that WMXQ is hanging in there and holding their own despite the increased competition Cox created for them.

I'm predicting Rock 105 will loose at least 2 share points in the next book. While I understand we can't post actual numbers, I'm thinking that the average audience for Rock 105 will only consist of those who like the music. I personally know many who only listened to the station to hear L & T and turned off the station once their air shift ended. I'm thinking that if anyone knows what the average drop off percent is, that could be used as a base to guestimate what the morning share would be and then I'm sure the other dayparts would go down from there. This will be the big story in the coming months.

WKQL gets what it deserves. DUH, it's the programming, the programming, the programming, the programming.............

Peace

Well, I was at least partially correct in my predictions yesterday. Eagle was down (but only about a third of a point) but they were down a half point 25-54. Rock 105 had a great spike in the last month of the book and the primary contributors were none other than Lex & Terry! (Do I hear the sound of millions of dollars flying out of the windows at Cox? Yes, I do!) John, you're absolutely dead-on...two share points minimum for Rock 105 in the Fall, and even worse in the Winter.

In the Renda arena, Gator was up and they deserved it. WEJZ was way up as I predicted. And you don't have to be a rocket scientist to make the call on WKQL....FLAT, LOW and LOSING BIG!

That is exactly what is happening.
