Summer Book 2018

Summer Ratings show that WBLK takes the #1 position this time around with WYRK in second place.

ALT Buffalo proves once again that Summer concerts don't translate into ratings or revenue (1.5 share)
WECK falls well short of the 5 share, but a 3 share is a very respectable number. Buddy is right about the "decrepitude" of the Buffalo market.

Cumulus stations are not listed, so they must have cancelled their Summer subscription...

Let me fill you in. WECK is now a top ten. Also, a 4.5 share 35plus. Number 7 rank. Weck is well on its way to a 5 share. The first time WECK has had 3 share in 30 years. Also, HTT took big hit. 6.1. 97 rock. 9.0. Edg 3.2. WECK is the only station in the entire country that has a 3 share with a 1 kilowatt AM. Folks, trust me on this. I know you want my small company to fail, but it’s only getting bigger. Sorry.

I removed the line for you. Buffalo is not a growing market.
Agree?

Share has no relationship with population. It’s simply the percentage of folks who are listening to the radio who are tuned to one particular station. A 5 share in El Paso means the same as a 5 share in New York City.

Interestingly, Buffalo is a healthy radio market, with actual, albeit small, revenue increases. And the market bills higher than its national population rank.

Only if the exact same number (*number*, not percentage) of people are listening in those two places.

I think it'd be safe to say that at any given time, there are more people listening to radio in NYC (population ~$8.5 million) than in EP (population ~850k). Therefore, any static percentage of those that are listening (again, more in NYC) will equate to more people in NYC. Five percent of 8.5 million is a whole bunch more than 5% of 850k.
