Good one...I don't know what happened there. All I can say is that we've been working our butts off and this is what we got to show for ourselves...I wonder if it has anything to do with Piolin and El Chulo.
 
Must be a Bad Sample, has to be. But two other spanish stations went up???

where is 95.9/1310 in the ratings?

FM Sports Talker has a 0.6 but was only on for 2 of the 3 months. Look at The sports animal down by 0.5. Is there enough money out there for 2 sports stations?

I heard that KJFA got 0 in one of the trends.
Doesn't that sound like a problem to you?
Lobo reportedly got a low sample rate.
I know what your implying, but to go from great numbers to that low a level,
something other than listening habits are the cause.
Just my thoughts.

Nobody complains when they go from a 2 to a 5 Only when they go from a 5 to a 2 and YES I understand that their could be a bad sample but I thought Arbitron weight those things.....The other spanish stations that went up I guess are Happy

The total Spanish shares went from 11.1 to 6.3 from Spring to Summer.

KJFA had a 1.0, a 3.9 and a 1.5 in each of the three 4 week cycles of the Summer book.

I understand Arbitron got a full quota of diaries, but only 32% were Hispanic when the market is 41.6% Hispanic. So every Hispanic diary was weighted up by a third on average. And the Spanish Dominant Hispanic population should index at 31% of total Hispanic sample, but actually only 11% were in-tab. So we have only about 60 diaries out of 1700 for Spanish dominants.

Albuquerque is one of the most wobbly markets there is for Spanish language stations, because the sample for the whole market is small and any variance in Spanish dominants will mess wiith the results. This, though, is the worst I have seen there.

If you look at the overall Hispanic changes, KKSS and KDLW gained Hispanics in the younger demos and KRST in the older ones.

Total Spanish shares were off by nearly 45%, and in 18-34 it was off by about 55%. Spanish dominant sample was about 1/3 of what it should be, and the Hispanic overall sample was off by 1/3. Soif you only get a few diaries, no matter how much you weight them up, the data is not going to be accurate.

Double C..yes it is the opposite problem when Arbitron skews the Spanish numbers too high from
sample problems. In an ideal world (remember we're talking Arbitron) it would be great to get numbers that reflect the real listening habits. Then programmers can react or not react to what is being presented to them in the book breakdown. That being said, we'll never see that, and we travel the roller coaster ride that
is Arbitron in Albq.
 
Hey what were my Monthly break downs for KRKE & KQNM maybe we had a bad sample?

What it comes down to is did my advertiser get results? He Did!...He spends more regardless of the numbers. We had a sponsor that Ran on KOB & KRKE & He Got more calls from KRKE!!!!! for about 1/3 the cost.

That's great! That's what counts. Given your formats and target audience, I'm sure your local direct advertiser got more response than KOB . But for stations using numbers to get agency and national buys..
Arbitron's methods make it difficult. It's the only game in town, and until that changes (Cuomo New York),
that's all there is to work with. I'm just sayin'.
