Summer ratings

Big jumps for rock, drops for sports and talk...

WCTK and WWLI still numbers one and two respectively, with WHJY making a respective gain to take #3. WPRO-FM and WWBB still show up strong rounding out the top 5, although B101 is down slightly. Other notable mentions: WBRU makes a good-sized gain to take #6, WSNE ticks up slightly, while both talkers, WPRO and WHJJ, drop a bit. Sports radio WEEI-FM made a big drop, and apparently their listeners all went to WLKW-AM/WNBH-AM, which made a big jump and is now in Jam'n 94.5/WPLM territory. There was really no change at the Score (WSKO-AM/FM), however it seems that a few of its listeners went to the FM side. Both tropical stations, WKKB and WPMZ, as well as rhythmic WWKX, are steady.

WCTK's numbers seem to be real & steadily improving. They haven't had a down book in over a year. Will the loss of Tad Lemire hurt them? They haven't replaced him yet, probably because a new PD had to be hired first. Their P1s won't switch but those who were waking up to WCTK because of the morning show as opposed to just the music could leave. Frankly they need to fill that morning slot quickly.

Maybe some of the old-timers still prone to listen to AM have discovered WLKW where a lot of the oldies have gone.

HJJ is being beaten by the tropicals.

But repeat after me: We're all winning in our target demo.

Violet crushed by Yorke, yet again (check Persons 25-54...the nun's below a 1! & the "key demos" don't look much better). The debates are a perfect example as to why this is happening. Yorke's roundtable no rules approach is fresh, exciting, and you never know what the candidates will say. Violet's "20 seconds mista govana" borefest (that she hogs most of the time of anyway with her verbose and sometimes bizzarre questions) are about as exciting as watching paint dry. Also, whoever's idea it was to broadcast Violet's debates from inside a tin can (what it sounded like) Bravo to you, sir!

Time for Podar 920, or Foxnews, or how about 24/7 Dining Out?

Don't forget to try the house dressing...its a bit bitter tonight, isn't it General?

I agree!
This is what might be Bill Georges only real chance to plead with Jim Corwin, the obvious.
That Violets ratings are the lowest in WHJJ HISTORY and she must be fired!
Below a one! Maybe NO ONE wants to hear 4 months straight of pro Casino talk radio!
It's not that Yorke is that good, it's Violet is that bad.
Please be brave for Jan 2007!

Interesting, as to WHJJ ratings, do you really think it is due to the casino debate. I will also admit, we are so darn tired of it.

All I know is to vote YES on Question 1. It's time to finally bring some Money into this State. Watching thousands and thousands of Rhode Island dollars travel into Connecticut each day isn't helping anyone here. Change the loser mentality and vote YES on Question 1. Arlene's show is horrible. That's another change this State has to make. Get rid of that awful show. To Bad we can't vote on that one.
