Sunday Morning Infomercial on WCBS-FM

I usually turn on WCBS-FM at about 6:45 AM on Sundays to hear Sue O'Neill. This morning I heard an infomericial at that time. Sue took the air at 7 AM and said her show would be 7 AM -11 AM while Pat St. John's would be on the air from 11 AM - 3 PM.

Apparently, the station can make more money with an infomerical from 6 AM - 7 AM on Sundays than it can by selling spots during music programming.

That doesn't necessarily mean that CBS-FM is crying poverty during their voicetracked overnight programming. If you listen during the 3 AM hour, it would be as if you were listening at 3 PM - six-minute commercial breaks, only the difference is, the majority of the advertisers are "debt solution" organizations and inquiry-only advertisers. I don't think Jack-FM would be doing that.

Relatedly, WABC's Sunday morning program "Religion On The Line" has a start time of Sundays at 7:30 AM; I believe they opt to air an infomercial at 7 AM. (They also run an hour of infos at 6 PM on Saturdays, as well.)

I remember when Marc Summers used to be on Sunday mornings on CBS-FM back in the late 80's and early 90's. That was a great show. That was right after Al Meredith's talk show when it was on CBS-FM at 5 AM right after Max Kinkel does the all-night show.
