I was watching the Sox game Sunday in Toronto on TBS and notice that there were non HD camera along with regular HD one's, are they any stations in Canada going to ghange to the HD format anyone know?
Interestingly enough I'm here in Boston and the TBS broadcast was blacked out. The ballgame--
not the commercials! The game was on NESN (Comcast Ch 51) and if you went to TBS (Comcast Ch 31)
it said "Boston vs. Toronto TBS Baseball" on the bottom of the screen. They ran ads during the ad breaks--then it simply went black
during the game itself.
Substitute programming for areas that are blacked out (because you can get it on NESN and they don't
want competition)? No, just running ads, but no game!
Raccoon, were the ads local or national? If they were local, I can easily imagine that while Comcast has the game feed itself (video/audio) blacked out, the cues to insert local ads kept feeding.
And having been subjected to the TBS coverage out here in Yankees territory, I can safely say a black screen would have been equally acceptable.
