I saw john Allan`s name here. Is this the same John Allan who worked at WNSY_FM Sunny 100. I loved the Friday Night Oldies show that he did. I still have many high quality tapes of it, as I am an Oldies collector. What ever happened to Gracie Mae Willson (with two l`s) and Cletiuis tonsellitus jackson? I remember that the show went off quickly in Sept. 2003 with gracie mae had found out that she had cancer. Did she recover? Was this John Allan`s wife? Who was Cletius jackson really? That show was so funny. I always thought that Scott Evans supplied the voice of cletius? Who was his cousin leory jackson who always called in with the funniest segments? was it the guy from randy and Spiff? Where is john Allan now? Why did he leave Sunny 100 about a year before they were sold? Why did Sunny 100 sell? It was the best Oldies station that I have ever heard!

Sunny 100 and WCHK were sold because their owner (Charles McClure) passed away and his family wanted out of the radio business. A year before Mr. McClure passed, he sold his stations in Columbus. It was pretty certain that the Canton stations would be sold after he sold his Columbus stations.

I have stated previously why Sunny 100 was a good station...local ownership. There was no corporate bean counter in charge...and in return you get a quality product. A lot of people discovered Sunny 100 after Cool 105.7 flipped to Spanish. It was a difference between day and night in the way they were programmed.

Yes, I am the same John Allan. To answer your questions, 1) Gracie May Willson was Carol Ervin. She was my sister. She passed December 23rd of that year. 2)Cletus was played by Chandler, Gracies son, my nephew. He also played the parts of Bertha, Pepe, and Kim. We also had help from Amy the singing intern, who took over the nightly show after I left. She played the part of Edie Schlanger. (Who was ALWAYS talking about Beckie from East Elijay!) The only person that still remains unidentified is T-bone. That was an actual caller that wrote his own skits. We STILL don't know who T-bone is! But I sure would like to find out, and to thank him for some fantastic phone calls!

Anyway, after Carol passed, we didn't have the heart to do the show anymore. And I left Sunny 100/WCHK (I did mornings there) when the owner told everyone to find a new job, he was selling the place. So I did, and he called back and said nevermind, I' keeping them. Too late. I was hired as Operations Manager of 1690 Air Atlanta (WWAA). I ran that until it was sold, and the old owners took me with them to their next project, WNGM Hiawassee. I am now Program Director for WNGM and WPGY (Elijay). Mostly I work out of my studio in Ball Ground, doing jingles and production type work, and the occasional CD project. There, the whole story.

Sorry to hear that Gracie Mae Willson passed away. I never heard it mentioned on Sunny 100. John, what is your format in Ball Ground? Are you doing Oldies? Where is Jumping Jack Renyolds and Scott Evans now? What ever happened to the music library of Sunny 100? I heard that David Broadcasting gave Scott Evans the hard drive and CD` s and that he was using it as a mobile d.j. is this true?

The stations I program are in Hiawassee and Elijay. I program them out of Ball Ground. Hiawassee is Classic Hits (Think the River with AC thrown in) and Elijay is Oldies. Yes, if you liked Sunny, you will LOVE Piggy.

Jumpin' Jack Reynolds is now doing MOVIES! That's right, he's an actor, and quite good at it too!

I haven't had the chance to speak with Scott lately, but last I heard, he was working in Television. But I think he's left that for something new. Like I said, I haven't talked to him in QUITE a long time. As for the mobile dj thing, I have no idea.

As for not talking about Gracie on Sunny 100, She wanted it that way. When we last talked about the show, she said she didn't want to bring the listeners down. So we never said anything.

Hi, john. Do you have websites for the stations that you now program? That Piggy Oldies station sounds fantastic. So, you say that you have an even larger Oldies library than Sunny 100 did? Do you stream live on the internet? I know that Sunny 100 always streamed. I would love to hear these new stations that you are talking about!

Hey GTAGO,

Classic 1230 proudly streams at www.wngm1230.com however, Piggy is still under construction at this time. So no web site as of yet. Stay tuned for that one, you might like the final product when we get it there.
