Sunny 103 Baton Rouge gets new Morning show basically forced on it

Yep WCDV previously with mornings from Rick and Bubba from Citadel Birmingham will get a surprise when they find the Mark and Mack show on Wednesday January 3rd in their place due to the Rick and Bubba signing a 5 year contract with crosstown rivals Cox to host the morning show on Birmingham's WZZK (and going from A/C to Country in the process as well as syndication from Cox)

Mark and Mack are apparently the morning show on Citadel talker WAPI Birmingham and are apparently a Christian Faith style morning show like Rick and Bubba or Steve and DC

my prayer is i hope i never have to hear their show ;D just like i never heard more than 1 minute of the redneck and bubba show ::) i heard 1 minute the fist day before quickly turning it off.

Tuned it in this morning for the train wreck aspect - was not disapointed:

Distorted audio (those things that wiggle when you talk? They're called METERS)
Blah blah Alabama blah blah Birmingham (and I like Birmingham)
Local numbers given out with no area code

Alrighty then.

Didn't get a chance to listen but I take it, it sounded like two guys who are used to birmingham radio and can't fathom trying to relate to listeners elsewhere?

They aired several callers from the area yesterday and today plus covered the tornados/thunderstorms. Maybe they do get it.....

Yeah I sampled them again, I think it was first day getting used to the regional idea thing...

Hello guys,

I'm Mark, from "The Mark & Mack Show."

We were surprised with the request to take the show when R&B walked away from their latest 5 yr. offer of $11 Million. In fact, it was a big surprise to everyone, including listeners. Day 1 was rough both technically and content-wise because we were just tossed into the situation and had to rig up studio connections, etc. The vast majority of phones were "what's up?" calls on day 1, and very few others got through. We started getting calls from Baton Rouge on day 2, and we started adding the area code to the studio number as soon as we realized we had some network affiliates still taking the feed, and a toll-free line is on the way.

As for the rumors about religious content on our show, even though we're both conservative Christian guys we're a much less "religious" than R&B. You'll hear our beliefs come through, but it's not our lifestyle to pound the Bible or shove what we believe in your face. That's just not who we are.

Give us a chance. We hope to build relationships with the affiliate stations and their listeners if we can get that chance.
