After the Christmas holiday is over and Sunny 104.5 is back to "regular" programming, can we expect to see any tweaks in the format? Will they still have the same 60s, 70s, & 80s slogan, with emphasis on the 70s tunes?
How do you feel about a station that plays just upbeat songs from the 60s, 70s, & 80s? I'm not talking about a rhythmic type of station, but just upbeat songs (aka no ballads). An example of some songs are "Footloose," "I Can See Clearly Now", "Sussudio"-Phil Collins, "Last Dance"- Donna Summer, "Your Smiling Face" - James Taylor, "Heard It Through the Grapevine" - Temptations, "Let's Groove" - Earth, Wind, & Fire, "Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" - BTO, "Sweet Dreams" - Eurythmics. Are there any stations that do this type of format? I guess this could be considered an "Upbeat AC" format, not a rhythmic AC. This type of station would not just incorporate rhythmic tunes, but some soft rock songs too.
It would be neat to see Sunny take on a format like this. They play the songs I've listed above, but they would need to eliminate the slow songs from their playlist. It would obviously involve adding more songs and digging deeper into the "upbeat music" library from the 60s through the 80s. The name Sunny seems so appropriate for this kind of format too since "Sunny" can be interpreted as bright & upbeat.
