Hey Rick..Here's an idea. Why not salute an Oldies Year each day M-F. For example, the station could feature the greatest hits of (insert year) and play the top 35 hits of that year in whatever rotation you choose. Or use it as a weekend feature. It would be a fun feature and a great way to target.

A big bumper sticker or lucky button campaign is needed after Dave Robbins cleans programming.

How about:
- stand by to "rip me off"
- dial up my hit lines, 800-xxx-1059
- another win it before you can buy it weekend
- let's play Hi-Lo
- Boogie Check

Get a gimmic that has people wanting to call in every hour for a cheap gift or just hear themselves on the radio... seemed to work pretty well 20-30 years ago. Actually gives the people the opportunity to interact with the "talent". (sorry, nearly impossible triva @ 7am isn't that big a crowd pleaser)

'A' for effort...but...The Sunny FM Spotlight is featuring songs that made it to #2..after playing the #2 they're playing the song that kept #2 from becomming from #1. But they need to do some homework...6:20pm Saturday..they played #2 I'd Really Love to See You Tonight by England Dan & JFColey from 1976. Next up they played the In The Summertime by Mungo Jerry and said that was the #1 that kept England Dan from reaching from #1. The only problem..Mungo Jerry was a hit in 1970, not '76. Someone needs to buy a Whitburn book, pronto.

So what was that #1 song in 1976? Inquiring minds want to know...

The Mungo Jerry foul-up reminds me of one of worst goofs I heard on O-Town radio. DJ plays "Rescue Me" by Fontella Bass and then credits Fontella Base. Great music knowledge there! Perhaps working the wrong format.

"i'd Really Love.." got to #2 in June 1976...'Love Hangover' by Diana Ross was #1 for two weeks starting 5/29/76.

Postscript; On Billboard 'Silly Love Songs' was #1 for a total of 5 weeks...first starting on 5/22/76...'Love Hangover' hit #1 on 5/29 for 2 weeks and 'Silly' returned to #1 for 4 more weeks. But 'Love Hangover' was #1 when 'I'd Really Love To..' peaked at #2.

What are the odds? YMCA was playing on Sunny when I turned off the car radio Saturday evening...and when I turned on the radio this afternoon Sunny is playing YMCA...again? still?

I was listening to Sunny in Charleston last night, and apparently, this weekend they have changed their slogan to Bunny FM. They still play the same songs, and I don't know why they did that, as WCBS wouldn't do that.

These changes sometimes happen very rabbitly.
