I listened online this morning to Sunny 97.1 and was very impressed with the music and the jingles of this station. I heard music that I haven't heard since I was a kid!
I know its a CC owned station but got to give CC a thumbs up on this station!

Sunny 97.1 seems to focus alot on the 70's , which is great.

I like this station, too. Don't get me wrong, I hate what CC has done to Rock here in the south, but I like this format and it is leaps and bounds better than what KVIL is doing. As another poster stated...

I totally agree with you both. I've tried to give KVIL a chance in the morning. Even though Gene and Julie have been here before, it takes a little time to get into the groove, BUT, with that said, I simply can't listen to them anymore. I don't mind some talking between the tunes, but please, tell me something INTERESTING! If I want A/C in the morning, I have to keep going back to Sunny. I've always liked the music and Fast Eddie Coyle has been one of the best for years. I also think the move with Anna DeHaro now joining Coyle has been one of the few Clear Channel bright spots. (we all know the low spots). I could be off base, but with Chapman just about gone, and KVIL so screwed up, I think the A/C numbers are going to slowly go towards Sunny.

I hear great things about their music as well-- too bad they're #20 in the market in the 25-54 demo.

They are number 20? I am very surprised, because it such an excellent station. I listen to them online sometimes.

It is hard to believe their ranking. They sound good. I know many KVIL and KLUV die-hards who are now listening to Fast Eddie. I think when Ron Chapman moves on, the AC-oldies world will change, and I think Sunny will benefit the most.

I have to agree with everyone's post here. Sunny which started out in the middle of the road has sprang to life in the lat few months b yaddign some high nergy rock songs. Fast Eddie is a comfortable fit. If they take it slow and build accordingly they will rise to be a success with staying power.

I notice the sound quality is excellent while listening online. Alot of the CC stations use Liquid viewer and Ionstreams as their streaming carrier, which sound great.

Yeah, I wished "Sunny" here in Houston would go that direction. Unfortunately, they sound a lot like KVIL these days. However, they will not change it anyway, because the ratings are good... right now.<P ID="signature">______________
