the twenty-third radio tower on the left. There you'll find an Asian
lady named woo, and on her laptop a man with a rifle, Braves baseball cap*
and madder than hell with a package containing a top secret format
change of one WFSY to either Fishy 98.5 (I had to buy a vowel, Pat
and Vanna) or better yet WFLA-TWO All Christmas Talk All The Time.
I hope I have not (aluminum) foiled your big announcement hallowed
alleged Clear Channel broadcaster thingy.

In all seriousness Charlie -- this post is about as insane as going Christmas
this early. Why would Sunny make this move? They're #'s aren't down
are they? It's 85 degrees down there. With sand. RNR not even doing
Christmas up North.

Christmas music? Bah, Humbug! Well, everybody read about B101's incredible numbers with All-Jingle Bells-All-The-Time last year up in Philly, so now nearly every AC is hopping on board. Me? I've got two ACs up here in The Tundra (adjacent markets) and we'll just keep playing John Mayer tunes.
BTW, we did get 4 inches of snow last week. Maybe we should all toss is $1.37 and buy out Double O...
you got that wrong.. i tune away.. figures they would go all yule this early in the season. it gets old FAST.
if i ran a station, i wouldn't go all yule until the 22nd (of december) or so.
and 98.5 comes in here from time to time, due to QRM from 98.7. they ruined the view.

FISHY 98.5? That's nothing new.
Heck, we were being called "Fishy 98.5", "Fuzzy 98.5", "Fussy 98.5", "Frizzy 98.5", and every other variation on that theme from the day we launched Sunny in 1987.
Maybe it's because we were kicking everybody's butt then too... except the Mother Ship of PC Radio... WPAP (even tho' we did even beat THEM a couple of times).
And through it all... there was Charlie... keepin' the tubes hot.
Oh, and 98.5's once (and future) sister in the Columbus, GA market -- WGSY -- was called "Gussy," "Goosy," "Greasy," "Wiggsy" ... notice a trend here?

I used to hate board opp'ing Delilah. 15 calls a night from people who thought she actually worked there.
PAP overnights had much better callers.
Oh... and November 4th is pretty darn early for Christmas music.
