They have Jeff Cushman and Bob Berry, I hear they are trying out a couple of part-timers Chris Orion and Adam Alexander for the night time shift. They are currently narrowing down the field...I hear they are going to hire between 3-7 people and that Jeff C. has recieved over 500 resumes for the job...everyone wants to be a jock.

this Chris Orion......Is it just me or does it sound like Bobby Smith with a different name?? Then again, it's been a few years since I heard O-Rock.

Bob Barry was on at Lunchtime yesterday-they must be doing LOOOONG Shifts!

I'm not surprised. There are a *lot* of radio folks who have been waiting for a station like this to come along and would *love* to make it happen behind-the-mic.

7 people? to do what? don't be fooled, they have a digital storage system with voice tracking capability just like everyone else around the country today (sheesh even CBS-FM is voice tracked some of the time).

500 resumes? according to who? that's a nice number to throw out there but it's not like it's CBS-FM or KEARTH. :)

I have a feeling they received a sizeable number. When I was PD/OM at small market places, running ads for positions and stating they were low pay I would receive several hundred over a few weeks. This was during the days of running openings in R&R and Gavin....and snail mail only....meaning it took more effort-time-energy and money to send in materials as compared to emailing a res/demo today. Just my two cents.

I haven't seen ads yet in any of the usual places.

If they *are* hiring, I'm going to give it a shot. Would love to do this kind of radio in Orlando again.

Wonder what's it's payin'?
Unlike most markets-a livable wage I'm sure...you wouldn't need to flip burgers part time to make ends meet.

I would be great to here someone like Ron St. John or Johnny Dark on the station.

Sounds realistic to me that after just the annual Clear Channel Christmas blood bath, there could be 500 people looking for radio jobs. The format is in revival and Orlando doesn't look like too bad of a place to have to move when you are eating tuna fish in freakin Fargo and collecting unemployment. Ain't radio sweet?? I think these guys will do well.
