I think it was just a rumor. The station is supposedly going to flip on July 1st, but I don't believe it. Sunny is cheap to run and its not doing too badly. Its certainly creating some competition.

Laura Nachman wrote this in her article on Tuesday:

Though Whoopi Goldberg’s show is scheduled to begin on Clear Channel stations across the country on July 31, according to Clear Channel regional VP of programming, Brian Check, Goldberg won’t be on Sunny 104.5-FM. In an email, he wrote that John Tesh will remain in the morning (5 a.m. – 8 a.m.) and the music will stay the same.

I read that Brian Check (program director at WSNI) said that Whoopi will not go on the air and that John Tesh is staying.
