Suns or D-Backs on KTAR

I was a little surprised that KTAR moved the Diamondbacks game to their FM side and broadcast the Suns on AM. I think the Suns, because the magnitude of a NBA Western Conference playoff game, would trump a middle May MLB game. Also there is more local interest (right now) for the Suns and KTAR would want the fans to hear Al McCoy on FM.

Is there an agreement of some type that if there is a schedule conflict, the D-Backs go to FM?

I don't know about any agreement between KTAR and the teams other than the Cards, who consider KTAR-FM to be their flagship, but if the Suns or ASU is playing at the same time as the D'backs, baseball moves to FM. If it's the Cards, football is on FM and baseball is on AM.

Wouldn't the AM have better coverage hence the "big game" on the AM side?

Not at night...there's a null to the northwest so the scorpions and gila monsters can't pick it up that well. Plus the FM doesn't go to static when you drive by powerlines out in the boonies. Keep Los Suns on Ancient Modulation© and Crummey on FM!
