Suns to be on FSN exclusively after this season

After this season, the Suns are leaving KUTP and will be on FSN Arizona exclusively. That means that, outside of the Cards (unless the blackout rule applies) and any Suns games that make it onto Channel 15 via ABC, there will be no more local sports play-by-play on over-the-air TV in Arizona.

One more team I will no longer support. These clowns are making it really easy for this former sports nut to give up sports altogether. I hope they remember the 15-20% of the population they just chose to cut out the next time they want public money for anything.

I have no problem paying for stuff I watch, like the ESPNs, Big Ten Network, or FSN Arizona. I just can't justify paying $75 a month for those channels, plus equipment I shouldn't need, plus 190 out of 200 channels I don't ever watch. That's why I dropped cable when I moved last year, but kept internet service.

I do pay $120 a year for MLB.TV - that's a month and a half of cable - which gives me a full season of baseball - except for the Saturday afternoon games on Channel 10, the ESPN Sunday night games, and one team that's blacked out (guess which one). If I wanted to, I could cough up another $100 a year for the NBA, but I don't care about that league until the playoffs. I don't know if they black out the Suns or not.

So, like the Diamondbacks, Coyotes, and ASU, it's out of sight, out of mind for another local team who plays in a stadium that was partially paid for by our tax dollars. I'll be perfectly happy watching my White Sox and 28 other MLB teams online.

Besides, there's always radio. I'll take Al McCoy over Gary Bender any day of the week. Same goes for Greg Schulte & Tom Candiotti over Dumberer & Dumberest Daron Sutton & Mark Grace.

I'm pretty that the home team is blacked out on NBA League Pass.
