Thank you all for the effusive welcome. I'm certain that the answer to my question lies in another thread, but I just don't have the energy to search. Can anyone tell me why JB&B aren't on Buzzard any more? The real reason, please, not the generic "because they suck a**" or anything like that. I know many dislike them, but I enjoyed their program. I have spoken.

What if there isn't any reason beyond the generic one? Why must it be any deeper than that?? Maybe they couldn't hang with 2GNC?

I'll say it was because people confused them with Bob and Sheri, then, and leave it at that. I just don't have the energy to search beyond that either aaaight?

They meant to drop JB&B back when Dick Harlow was GM, but he forgot to submit the paperwork and the contract renewed....

John Boy & Billy are pre-recorded most of the time, so their show has lost some relevance and abaility to turn on a dime. The big reason for The Buzzard, though, is that the station is now targeting a more active rock listener... younger and into the more new and edgy music. JB&B are pretty solidly focused on the Classic Rock audience. It's difficult to build audience when the morning show is targeted to a different audience than the rest of the day.

That makes sense. Thank you for the information. I have spoken.

Welcome Mike. Great answer, Brian. I think JB&B's relevence ended a couple of years ago. It was time for them to go. Buzzard should be able to move into the future, now.

It's ironic you mention 2GNC. Whenever I have the chance to listen to morning radio, I frequently select their show. Great folks in my opinion, but I realize that not all appreciate their efforts.

Since I am not a radio insider, does anyone know where "The Grease Man" is nowadays? I used to listen to him when I was in college in the late 80s (WWDC FM). It was between firings for the MLK comment and the Lauryn Hill comment. You know what I'm talkin' 'bout, Willis. I have spoken.
