Super 70's Weekend

How long have KLUV been doing this? That's my childhood there buddy! Gotta catch some of this.

It's often a "That '70s Weekend" on CBS classic hits sister (brother?)
station KOOL-FM Phoenix.

And the best thing about it? No Brown Eyed Girl for an entire weekend! :D

Seriously now, if you were programming an 'oldies/classic hits' type station and DIDN'T play '"Brown-Eyed Girl", you KNOW you'd be making a mistake, right? ;)

Would it kill them to give it a couple of months off for a well-needed rest? Perhaps "Brown-Eyed Girl" can take "Sugar Pie Honey Bunch" with it! ;D

Sure you should play Brown eyed Girl..... just not so often. Thats why the burnout - the repetition. I was happy to see the inclusion of some different songs on KLUV. That happiness did not last long because the same songs get played DAILY

John, I second the emotions of BRNout and pfsmikez--play it but don't burn it to a crisp!

If you guys were still playing 45s, you'd want regular re-servicing of Bang 545 because
each copy would get a bad case of cue burn. ;)

So far today I have heard a bunch of stuff I haven't heard in years. Unfortunately there was a lot of disco thrown in for bad measure. :(

Our audience is just NOT tired of that song. I may be, but the folks are not.

This is NOT a 70's song referenced here; but a comment of John's post

On the NY Radio Message Board (The one Mr. Sniffen moderates); I posted on the CBS-FM board about a reaction my mother-in-law had when I immediately switched the station when Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers came on. My comment was overplayed; tepid; etc. Her response (in so many words); and in my opinion indicative of an average listener was I like that song; I want to hear it regularly and why do I want to hear some other hit (s) by them. Well guess what; she's closer to an average listener than you or I
