Super Bowl HDTV problems?

Noted during the Stones half-time performance, on my local ABC affiliate (WHAM-TV Rochester NY): a chyron reading "The problems with the high-definition signal have been fixed."

Local problems? Or was this something national?

WHAM-TV was having a bad time with its switching. The first local spot in each break was upcut by about 2 seconds throughout the game. I'd say that's what happens when you go to centralcasting (from WSYR-TV Syracuse, in this case) - but I've seen even worse on the local NBC affiliate, which is switched locally.
______________

On the New England board there is post stating WLNE had issues with their DT as well...

At the top of WHAM's 11:30 PM newscast, they had a one-line statement that "unfortunately, there were problems with Time Warner's HD signal, so many cable viewers had to watch the standard definiton signal."

What they didn't mention (aside from any details of the "problems") was that TWC here is now putting the local channels on its standard-def digital service as well as on analog. It's a good thing for cable customers plagued by "ingress" interference on channels 8, 10, 13 (when the broadcast signals get into leaky cable lines and cause bars and ghosting) - but it would be a much better thing if TWC allocated enough bandwidth to the digital service, which suffers pixellation, breakups and even frozen frames. Ick.

Universal OTA HD can't get here fast enough, as far as I'm concerned!
______________

I saw the same text on the TW-carried 13 (also Rochester ,NY). I also had a lot of pixelization and frame freezes. I'm curious as to whether that was a local TW problem or a local WHAM problem or an ABC problem. Anyone else experience this?

It might of just been a local or TW problem because here in Denver and the Comcast HD feed of ABC/KMGH-7, there was no trouble with the ABC HD feed so it wasn't a national problem. It sounds like a local problem with some of the HD feeds.
