did i say Steelers I meant Green bay...just kidding
good call Oldies 76 and Silkie.........good game!!!!!
Broadway Joe, The Raiders and most importantly the Chargers converted me to the AFL in the late sixties, I loved the brand of wide-open football they played in the AFL, especially the chargers, under the innovator Sid Gillman..... I rooted for any AFL team, I didn't have a favorite, until 1970 when the Pittsburg Steelers were awarded (actually won a coin toss) the first draft pick and selected a 6'-3" kid from Louisiana Tech with a gun for an arm named Terry Bradshaw. I saw him play in an all-star game and read he was born Sep 2nd 1948, since we shared the same birthday (Sep 2nd, 1946), that clinched it for me. I became a Steeler fan, so I have to predict a Steeler victory
below are my three fav football related songs
1. Mel and Tim - Backfield In Motion.......big R&B/Pop hit in the late sixties
2. Davis Geddes - Blind Man in the Bleachers(Last game Of the Season).....a tear-jerker hit from the early 70's
3. Terry Bradshaw - I'm So lonesome I Could Cry...Yes the Steeler quarterback had a country LP by the same title in the late seventies, and charted #??with the Hank Williams Classic....Bradshaw recorded two LP's the second was a Christian LP "Until You" which he recorded after he became a "Born Again Christian".... Terry has recorded, acted and is a very good commentator, all this after he discovered that he suffered from undiagnosed Severe Depression all his life, and is now on medication, reunited with his estranged family, including his two beautiful daughters .
