Super Bowl Radio Coverage. Does anyone still listen?

Hearing a lot of sports shows hyping their plans for next week in Miami. Is radio row as popular as it used to be with all of the radio cutbacks?

Would imagine all of the national guys are going, ESPN and Fox. Don't know about Sporting News except for probably Brando and the Stews.

Does any one show really do a better job than others when it's the same publicity whores going from show to show?

Always sound good to me when a guest actually knows the host and isn't just shilling something. ESPN usually just interviews their own guys, Fox doesn't really have any compelling shows and Sporting News is all but non-existent.

Does anyone care anymore?

Bruno has been talking on the air -- especially during his crosstalk segment with Petros & Money -- about how bummed he is that he isn't going. But I haven't heard him reveal the reason why.

Very odd.

I listen to the Superbowl on the radio more than I watch it on TV. I'll be listening to the Colts network coverage on 1190 WOWO.

No you won't. The Colts radio network does not have distribution rights for the super bowl, only Westwood One does.

Dan Patrick and Tony Bruno were bought by DirecTV to start their new Sports Radio division. Guess they should have stuck to cable TV.

I could have sworn that I heard a commercial on FSR the other night saying that Bruno would be in Mia, the weird thing with the commercial is that he was the last one mentioned...

I thought that the Team's networks could cover the game? That sucks

The team's network can carry the game but only on the flagship station. Westwood has the rights to the Super Bowl and the NFC/AFC Championship games.

I agree, it is a bad deal. If a station has been carrying the games all season long they should be able to carry the two most important games. Instead if they want to carry the game they have to carry the crappy WW1 feed.

If you want to listen to the Super bowl coverage from the colts either Get Sirius or hope you can either get WLHK or WFNI that night. because WOWO or who ever has the Westwood one rights in ft wayne will be airing the game

Luckily, WWL out of New Orleans has a big enough signal that a good chunk of the country can listen without having to hear god awful Marv Alvert! YUCK!

Dan Patrick's show broadcast live from Miami all of Super Bowl week. Guess you ought to start listening to the show.
