Radio Legend, Super Snake, Emerges as the ‘Voice of the Valley’ Nov. 3rd
Super Snake will host the new afternoon show on 101.5 JAMZ Mon – Fri from 2 to 7pm
(PHOENIX, Ariz. – Oct. 28, 2008) – Some say he left, but for many he’s been here all along. Super Snake (a.k.a. The Pillar, Daddy Warbucks, The People’s Champ and The #1 DJ in Phoenix) is taking 101.5 JAMZ to the next level with the arrival of his afternoon show airing Monday through Friday from 2 to 7pm.
Starting Monday, November 3rd fans can once again enjoy legendary segments, “I knew you was a Snake” and “Super 4 at 4” during their afternoon drive. For his debut on 101.5 JAMZ, Snake has scheduled unforgettable celebrity interviews and special guest hosts.
Snake took listeners by storm with his wacky antics and legendary interviews with stars such as Will Smith, Jamie Foxx, Kanye West, Mary J Blige and Tom Cruise; hometown heroes Jerry Colangelo and Amare Stoudemire and concert impresario Danny Zelisko. In the past, Snake has achieved number one ratings within months of launching a new show at each of his previous stations. This continued success has both Snake and 101.5 JAMZ confident his afternoon show will achieve the same results.
“This is something that will really impact the community,” said Snake. “I’ve been looking for an opportunity like this and after talking to 101.5 JAMZ I knew this would work. Let the games begin; it’s time to bring life back into radio.”
During SuperBowl XVII, Snake worked as an entertainment reporter at CBS 5 in Phoenix, declaring him a triple-threat, with accolades in radio, television and his ‘King of Swag’ appearance of multi-colored clothing and a collection of over 475 pairs of shoes.
His notorious act gained national recognition and Snake headed to the Big Apple. His passion for talking with people and enthusiasm for music immediately landed him success at Manhattan’s Jammin 105. Here he helped establish the Jammin Oldies format at an international level to be featured on stations in Tokyo, Japan; Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Orlando and Washington, DC.
Snake’s iconic status did not dissuade him from being active in the community and aiding Valley youth. He helped establish the Stay in School program at U.S Airways Center, which benefited over 16,000 students; hosted the D.A.R.E. program in Glendale for 5 years and promoted distinguished programs such as YMCA, Boys and Girls Club and NABI, a program that supports Native Americans.
Snake has cultivated many great moments and unforgettable memories with artists such as Mariah Carey, Madonna, 50 Cent, and MC Hammer from the time he began his career in radio. His latest endeavor at 101.5 JAMZ will be nothing short of monumental as he claims his title as the Voice of the Valley and climbs to the top of local radio.
