Super steady Curtis Media Group trims Winston Salem team

Under-performing CMG West stations WSJS/WSML/WMFR trims back staffers as of yesterday/Tuesday 2/17, letting Production Director Dick Edwards and 3 others in Sales, Board ops and part timers go.

That is a surprise but it seems to be happening everywhere. I guess Curtis is no exception.

I wouldn't be surprised if the RDU market gets hit next with layoffs. Making it lean and trimming the fat. RAL did it with Sherri and Clear Channel had the layoffs too. Why not Curtis?

hate to hear that about Dick. He's been there for quite some time.

It's awful to see anyone let go at this time, but it's happening everywhere. Tough times!

Does anyone know who else is "On the Beach"?

Hate to hear of more job cuts.
Wow, Dick has been there forever.
No one is safe in these times.

The beach sounds good if the sun is shining.
Its been a cold, hartless winter.

Look for more longtimers in the radio biz to get the ax! They make more money than the younger folks and with revenues down all over, you can expect to see more veterans on the bricks.
