Superjock book on eBay

He probably had his family bid on this. Why the hell would someone pay $100+ bucks for a book written by a hack dj that can barely stay on the air anymore

Ugghhhhh retire already!!!

...SUPERJOCK was going for $50 a pop on eBay eight years ago...

...the positive on the book is that it is a legitimately entertaining and accurate portrait of Top 40 radio life in the mid-'70s, well-edited (it was actually ghosted by Dan Jedlica of the Sun-Times, from dozens of hours of Lujack tape interviews) and actually funnier than anything Lujack had the opportunity to get away with putting out over the WCFL or WLS carrier signals. The negative on it is that Lujack didn't want to do the damned thing in the first place. Lujack has publicly stated in recent years that Jedlica (an automotive writer for the Sun-Times) swung the deal with the publishing house Regnery first and then went to Lujack saying he could cooperate with the thing and get the primary author's credit (and accompanying royalties) or not cooperate and risk it turning into a poison pen volume that he'd never see a nickel from. Lujack went with it, but never really liked the thing...

I will agree this is a well-written, very humurous book about radio in the 1960's and 70's. It is also multi-dimensional in that it is written as both an autobiography, and as a commentary. There are short "actualities" at the beginning of each chapter that tell what is going on in Lujack's life right at the moment. He also is not shy about talking about the people he worked with and the celebrities he met. If you were a Lujack fan, this book is a must-own.

With that having been said, I would be willing to part with my fair-to-good condition copy for $50. Interested? leave a way for me to reach you, (PO Box, email, regular mail) on this site.
