Suprise @ WLVR

I know that many of the collage stations don't get a mention on this board so for this is interesting. The students @ WLVR go back on the air as of this Monday Feb 4th.I was informed that a show that use to be on is making a return on Wednesday at noon. But would not say which one.It was popular I was told and I am scratching my head which one it could be.Any guesses?

Joe Hanna has not been affiliated with WLVR for about 15 years. The station is run by the no nonsense Budgie loving AJ Fritz. Mr. Hanna has had his share of problems with accusations of misconduct. I believe he is innocent. With the ever burgeoning technology today his CD store is obviously not doing well. But, there's still people like me out there. I've been looking into an I-pod but nothing has happened yet. So, Im due for a return to buy some cds. It'll be my first time there in 5 months.

sorry to hear that! that's how ago i radio at LVR! i had no problems with joe hanna then.as for chuck penn he is missed in the area.

So we now know who it was. When I heard the "star spangle banner" by Whitney Houston played,my jaw just dropped. It was that Australian guy Shane who use to be on B104.His selection of music I think gave ZZO,99.9 & the bone a run for their money.Really refreshing.OMG .Wonder why B104 don't bring him back. His voice just stands out so much.Maybe the same reason they don't bring Ken Mathews back.Great talent.

On a different note there is a good sports talk show on wednesday nights from 8 to 10. The show features three young kids who are fairly professional for their age. Silly college dj giddiness is kept to a minimum.

The legendary Josh Dylan is on Monday mornings from 6 to 9 am. When I was listening he was playing some real heavy stuff. I was somewhat surprised. I thought he was an alternative-emo guy but he must have diversified.

Like drpickle mentioned I am on WLVR Monday mornings from 6am to 9am. I've been at since Summer of 2006. I'm also with Clear Channel in Allentown Producing shows/Board Op./and whatever else I can do.

You need to be on in the mornings with Lou Holzman, Bobby Gunther Walsh, and Dr. George Sobel. A refreshing Liberal voice is needed to balance out that whiny neo-con.

Cool..............Great to hear you r still hiting it hard and heavy....listened to a few of your air checks on All Access and thought they were sounding pretty good... keep at it... radio needs more dedicated "I love radio dudes" like you!

Thanks Dave. Yeah I've been hitting All Access alot lately trying to find a Full Time radio job. I really do not want to do On Air all that much, I rather do Traffic (scheduling)/Promotions/or Producer but a part time air shift along with it be nice.

Josh,
Good moves on your part... work to learn all you can about running and managing a station ...just don't forget your on air programing roots...........like the world's big guys have done........great radio takes talent...both on air and supporting on air...as we both know that formula is sorely missing in our industry.
Dave
