Have to admit I really don't have anything of great importance to post, but I don't remember seeing this board so dead since I joined a few years ago.The Honda station on 1630 is silent this morning. It had been running 24 hours a day.If KMIC 1590 is running IBOC, I sure can't tell, no slop on either 1st adjacent. Which is a switch since the station used to slop over to the 2nd adjacent during the day. Nighttime Radio Disney disappears in my location. I'm right in the middle ot the deep null KMIC has towards Corpus Christi at night.I believe that the statement that Kahn has made about his Digital system increases coverage is true. KRCM 1380 comes in very well, much more like 5kW or better and KOLE 1340 has a fair signal, while KIKR 1450 is in and out with another station and very weak. For those in the know about BMT stations {CW, Stan} is KDEI 1250 operating at reduced power? The signal was weak, much weaker than I remember it usually being during the day. KRCM has a much strong signal than KDEI. Even KOLE is about the same strength as KDEI today.I wonder if XEFD on 590 in Reynosa has increased power? They are really beating up on KLBJ this noontime. Even with a loop I can't get a clean signal from KLBJ. I wonder how far south and east KLBJ gets before XEFD starts to cause interference? I would guess not very far for a 5kW ND station. I'm surprised that KLBJ hasn't filed complaints with the FCC as they should have a great signal in Houston during the day. But the problem has existed for years so I guess KLBJ is happy with the coverage they have. I doubt that the FCC would have approved another station that is supposedly 5kW just across the border on 590. If anyone from San Antonio reads this, does XEFD cause interference to KLBJ in the Alamo City during the day? Corpus Christi is probably mostly XEFD with some KLBJ in the background. Also missing is KLIF 570 Dallas which had a fair signal in The Galleria area day and night. I wonder if KLIF switched over to IBOC and that has cut down on their coverage?KILE was testing the other day with I presume the approved 4.8kW and had a signal that was equal to KEYH 850, the strongest daytime signal here. When KILE fires up the 50kW they will have a killer signal in this part of Houston. I checked the FCC files yesterday and they had not acted on any of the "Unblocked" AM applications. KILE is in the number 15 slot for their 1000 watt nighttime signal. At this rate it could be months before any action happens on KILE's applications for nighttime and the new daytime pattern with IIRC six augmentations. Hopefully the FCC approves KILE's applications this time around, although the nighttime signal isn't going to cover much of Houston with the tight pattern that is proposed. It was sheer lunacy on the part of the FCC to deny the 25kW signal that was proposed some years ago now. I still don't understand why the FCC still protects Cuban stations. The FCC requires strict protection of stations to the south of the US, yet anyone will throw a 50kW ND 24/7 station on the air without concern for US stations. So much for the FCC protecting US stations from foreign stations or giving them the power to overcome the increasing interference all stations are receiving.Mike O
