Surprised that KABC7 Didn't borrow the 7live franchise from KGO7?

Surprised that KABC7 Didn't borrow the 7live concept from KGO7. I like to know why WLS once Oprah left they ran with the 7live concept with "Windy City Live". What makes WLS and KGO special that LA or NYC does not have to run with the 7 live concept from KGO. Although 7live is really based on an old franchise called "AM Your City" from the 1970's that KABC or WABC did.

Why should KABC or WABC be compelled to sign on to this concept during their local hours? Maybe ABC wants to give it a try in market #3 and #4 before they consider adopting it in #1 and #2.

I haven't seen the Chicago version, but even though I live Brian Copeland, I don't find 7 Live on KGO-TV very compelling. I'd just as soon watch paint dry.

I agree that Brian Copeland tends to do better on KGO-AM when he does talk radio on the weekends. I agree that Copeland is not a TV person.

Copeland isn't the problem for me. He's a nice looking guy and looks professional on camera. Actually, he has kind of a high thin tenor voice, so if anything, that should hurt him on radio. But I've heard his KGO radio show, and the content he provides is interesting. Not so on 7 Live where he's delivering the content they give to him...at least that's what I'm assuming.

I just don't find the content of 7 Live particularly compelling, and I thought the format was odd. I can't be more specific about what I don't like because I only saw the show a couple of times, and that was months ago. Maybe that's the problem for me - it was totally forgettable...just an hour out of my life wasted when I could have been doing something more interesting.
