Surprised to hear " Lady in Red" on CBS today

It's a great song but was still surprised to hear Bob Shannon play it this morning. It's a beautiful song but I've noticed that for the most part CBS tends to avoid the syrupy sweet melodies. For instance I don't think I've heard CBS-FM play any Captain and Tenille, Dione Warwick or Barbara Streisand tunes.

I have an old tape of Z-100 playing "Lady In Red" in 1987, so I guess it's a hit song that's come full circle.

Let me know when they play "Don't Pay the Ferryman". That was a much better Chris de Burgh song.

Full circle is correct. It was played on the Golden 101 as a current. As was True Blue by Madonna and many others.

I also have a recording of CBS-FM from 1991 when they introduced a Whitney Houston song as "CBS-FM remembers... 1985".
