Last October, I had the pleasure of sitting in on a 5.1 demo put on by Frank. I was completely blown away! It's very hard not to be excited about the potential. The most amazing part is how little extra bandwidth is needed to do 5.1 using the system Frank describes.<P ID="signature">______________

At NAB in Vegas last year I saw his demo of it and the sound blew me away. I was more than impressed!

How many 'bits' does it take, though?? I was under the impression that all but the Neural systems took 'bits', and they were pretty much 'dead in the water' now with Multicasting. I believe one of the discrete systems were being worked out so that less bits were needed, but not yet. And my impression also was that Neural's system had multipath issues with the analog audio.

I could be very wrong in what I just said, though...I just need someone to 'school' me, and us on this list on Surround Sound, I just notice there was alot of talk about it say, a year ago, and now most of the talk and the agreement is that the "Killer App" for HD is multicasting.

It's a common mistake to not use punctuation in its proper form.
