Susan Blake on KNTV-NBC Bay Area

Susan was recently hired by NBC Bay Area - it kind of seems like all of the KRON people are coming back to a homecoming for what reason is still unknown. KRON will be auctioned off next month I believe around June 25th.....

Actually, it's Suzanne Shaw from KRON/Bay TV. Susan Blake (KOVR, KXTV & KRON) is now with Home & Garden TV. Suzanne will be doing some editorials for NBC Bay Area which begin within the next few weeks.

Are you sure? I saw a quick teaser in the evening for a morning news segment, and it sure looked like Susan Blake to me.

NO. Without a doubt I saw Susan Blake this morning. NOT Suzanne Saunders-Shaw. I saw a teaser for the morning news as well. I made it a point to tune in this morning to be sure. It was, live and direct, the one and only.... Susan Blake formerly of KRON and before that KOVR, KXTV.

If Suzanne Shaw is employed with them as well, all the better.

But yes, it seems like more former KRON-ites, are sticking with NBC affiliate

Yep, if Susan Black and Suzanne Shaw are both employed, this is a KRON reunion all over again with all the trimmings on it! It is her.

Where did you see that info? I've searched news-sites and bankruptcy-type
info websites galore and can't locate that info about KRON...

If and when that does occur, I wonder what will become of the skeleton
crew remaining at KRON...

Susan Blake is working on the morning news on NBC Bay Area. I saw her this morning. Suzanne Shaw was on Sunday Night doing an editorial on the 11 O'clock News on NBC Bay Area. We also heard that Jeff Raneri will be coming on board as weather person for NBC Bay Area. Jeff worked for the NBC WeatherPlus/Weather Channel and from what we understand will be coming aboard soon on KNTV.

It certainly looks like things are really looking good for NBC Bay Area. You just don't see any good news coming from WNBC, KNBC, WMAQ, WCAU, KXAS, WRC, WVIT or WTMJ these days and KNTV appears to be the shinning star.

Wow I noticed that most of the Old KRON crew are split between 4 stations KTVU, KGO, KNTV and KTVU.
Tom Sinkovitz, Susan Blake, and Suzanne Shaw on KNTV
Vic Lee, Lisa Argen, Noel Cisneros, on KGO, Pete Wilson and Ross Palombo had short stints on KGO but now gone
Mark Tamayo, and Jesse Gary to KTVU
and of course Wendy Tokuda and Don Knapp on KPIX.
well we need to wait for Pam Moore, Catherine Heenan, Vern Glenn, Gary Radnich, Ysabel Duron, Henry Tennanbaum, and Marty Gonzales to switch stations or retire because KRON has been dead for 7 years now. and the remaining people there are putting it on life support.

As I remember, Pete Wilson (RIP) was the first to bail - after Young had purchased KRON, but at least a few weeks before the NBC affiliation expired. Suzanne Shaw was gone from KRON before Young took over (to raise a family, if I remember correctly), so she doesn't really count as part of the Young debacle.

I think the others are staying because KRON suits them. What other TV station would tolerate Radnich's ramblings on their sports segment?

Belva Davis went to KQED and Doug McConnel also went to KQED

Belva Davis always split her time, and was kind of a freelancer. I'm quite sure she worked for KQED before she worked at KRON, and also during the time she worked at KRON. If I remember correctly, she was one of the reporter/anchors in the 1970s on KQED's highly acclaimed Newsroom program - kind of a local version of the McNeil-Lehrer Report, or The News Hour w/Jim Lehrer.

KQED cancelled it because it was too expensive to produce. Another anchor/reporter on Newsroom was Rollin Post, who later did programs on KRON with Belva.
