Susquahana Sale?

Anybody here any more about the sale of their radio stations? Seems like this process was started a few months back and haven't seen much else on it. Any suitors for those stations....without the Bone they aould appear to be a somewhat strong cluster of stations with good signals.

They'd be even stronger without KLIF as well. 93.3 and 570 are the cluster's albatrosses. I did hear a while back that they (Susquehanna) wanna sell everything in a single transaction and not piecemeal the assets.

Possible suitors - Cumulus, Citadel, Cox, and Entercom.

I'm of the "anybody but Clear Channel or Infinity" mindset...radio in this town is milquetoast enough as it is without another blandly branded "station" from the aforementioned radio numbnuts.

Management's putting the dough together now for a buyout.

Christ,as long as they throw out the garbage(read: scott) in the process, I might be ok with that.

I just hope Cox will put the same effort into their new acquisitions (if they are indeed the buyer, which it seems they are) as they do with their San Antonio stations.

Comparing Cox SA and Cox Houston is like comparing Pauly Shore's acting to Marlon Brando's. One is so poor, there's no point in trying. The other is dominant.

Cox has recently made some changes to KLDE and of course to KKBQ (country) by adding a former alternative rock morning show. These have been nice changes and from the looks of things they appear to be transferring into higher success in the Arbitron diaries.
KKBQ has tied with KILT and at one point had a slight edge.

But KHPT and Country Legends, both Houston, are also examples of this companies "we don't really give a (BLEEP)" attitude.
When the try, their on-air product is some of the best in that market.
When they don't--the station becomes nothing more than a flop good for little more than roasting on boards like this.

Just remember, Cumulus is a Clear Channel wannabe....that's why they hire all of Clear Channel's rejects.
