Sussex iHM regions.

IIRC, originally NW NJ was run out of Poughkeepsie (was it with Lehigh Valley before that?). When Poughkeepsie was brought under Albany’s roof, NW NJ probably came along with it.

Population and advertiser wise, NW NJ probably has more in common with small Albany/Poughkeepsie markets than the major NYC market. It’s not as simple as just drawing a circle on a map, and given it’s insignificant nature, would likely be a nuisance to NYC management.

https://radioinsight.com/headlines/...oins-iheartmedia-as-albany-ny-area-president/ not sure why iHeart Media has Sussex is considered the Albany region why not have it be part of the NYC region.
iHeartMedia breaks its operations into major markets and then the smaller markets with more in common from an operating structure.

You don't manage a cluster making tens of millions of year in revenue the same way you would manage one making hundreds of thousands, so New York worries about just New York and Sussex is paired with Poughkeepsie and Albany. The company also pairs Binghamton, Rochester and Syracuse as one operating region, and has a larger one consisting of the Allentown, Reading, Harrisburg (Lancaster was recently moved into the Harrisburg building), Williamsport, Wilmington, Dover and Salisbury/Ocean City markets.
