SUSSEX, NJ ARBITRON RATINGS RELEASED: FALL 2010

No surprise here. WSUS has gone down in quality as far as music and presentation goes in recent years. AC formats have been shifting to Hot AC over the past few years and it seems as though little, if any, 70s music is played anymore. In addition to the changes in the playlist, the station also stopped doing news in the afternoon.

Mike Anthony seems like a good guy, but no one compares to Vince Toscano.

WNNJ OTOH sounds a lot better these days.

I love the fact that WTOC pulled a 1.9. When you consider that the station is running with no local origintion and just runs True Oldies Channel all day and nothing has been updated. I believe that CC donated the station to a charity which is still shopping for a buyer. Honestly, I thought TOC would be a no show. Shannon's TOC is a good product and I often listen on PLJ hd-2 if I can't pick up WTOC.

If SUS is shifting to Hot A/C what about Max 106.3? I think they should simulcast Z100 from NYC

I don't think it'll have too much of an effect on Max.

Heard Red Hot Chili Peppers on WSUS yesterday. Definitely more of a Hot A/C sound. If another A/C station were to come to the market, I wonder if it would threaten WSUS.

I completely forgot about WTOC. Should listen more often.

I for one think Max should go back to Top 40 like they were back in 02' and 03' but not lean so young. Just model themselves after Z100, KIIS-FM, Kiss 108, Hot 99.5, Q102

Let it be duly noted that NJ101.5 WKXW-FM lost over half their listeners year to year in Sussex. Combined with their immense year to year losses in M/S/U, this isn't how you want to operate a radio station. Why was such a loss in listeners allowed to happen?

Who is responsible?

Radio is a business, not a hobby.

I blame the laws of physics myself - http://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WKXW&service=FM&status=L&hours=U

See Sussex County? Yeah. Not exactly in the red or purple circle, is it? Kinda hard to have listeners when the signal ain't there.
