Sutro Tower

Grew up in a house at the foot of the hill in front of the old Sutro Tower. Recall on occasion being able to pick up the KPIX TV audio on my sister's portable record player. In those days (early '70s) KPIX's transmitter was at the old Sutro mansion, which was on the site of the current tower. Also, recall my parents having to disconnect their hi-fi fm antenna as KFOG (one of the few stations broadcasting up there at the time) came in across the FM dial when the antenna was connected.
