Suzy Waud

She was working for Call Tech, and then I heard she owned a Subway Restaurant. Don't have anymore information after that. However, I have been trying to get in contact with her. No success yet.

I just heard last week that she is out of the Subway business...

Suzy owned and operated her Subway (the one on Frantz Rd) for about a year.
She sold it about a year ago.
She lives in Columbus.
I talk to her every week or two, I'll email her this link and maybe she will post.

I think she was one of the most tallented people ever in this market. I only met her once, and she was one of the nicest people I've met in a while in radio!!!!

Hey Guys!
My friend (the late one) prompted me to check out this site and your postings...I immediately signed on to radio-info so I could say 'hey'. I'm old school, I enjoy talking to people in person more than on email but I'm excited to learn about radio-info.com...I recently discovered it. Been rather removed from radio, but as we all know...it's still in our blood even if we choose not to act on it as often.

Joe Sousa...I would love to reconnect with you...you're one of the most sane guys I've met in radio and although we only worked together for about 8 months, I respect you and like your style. Since I'm a new member here, I can't email you (haven't earned the priv) to give you my cell and I'll catch you up!

I'm happily working from home and I have my own business. It's satisfying and feel-good so I've learned to work as hard for myself as I have for others employers.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words and postings! I did own a Subway for about 15 months...good times, even better when I was able to turn it around and sell it. Fond Subway memories and proud of owning one...a goal I had for over 10 years, learned so much and have nothing but respect for that amazing brand...eat fresh! However, if I can have a successful business w/o employees...hot damn!

Talk to ya!

WOW!

Love you Suzy Waud! I've listened to you ever since the good ole' days at 92X. What I would do to hear you say IT'S FRIIIIIIIIIIIIIDAAAAAAAAAY one more time. Miss you and I hope you'll post here often.

Great to hear from Suzi...She was one helluva talent. Missed her 92X days, but I did get to hear her do the Morning Show on Z-93 with Kim Faris back in 1997...AWESOME host! Always liked Suzi on Z and later on The Blitz. Also remember her one-week stint on Star 107.9 filling in for the vacationing Kelly Quinn. Suzi, you are missed!

Hey Quad Waud!

We worked together 100 years ago (or so it seems) when we stole you from 92X. Now I'm in Columbus, and only Mike Frazer remains in the 'Burgh.

Hope you're doing well!

Hey Kirkiefan,
Thanks for the kind words and I agree that 92X was one of a kind..haven't heard a station quite like it since! LOL on the Cutter Bug...it was cuddle bug that I always said...geez, I wonder how many other words people think I butchered with my 'waudisms'.
Rock on and have a great day!

Suz:

You're still funny. My bad on the typo and mispronunciation.

My most favorite "waud-isms"

1.) Talking up "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" trying to be like Cyndi Lauper during your top of hour legal station ID.

2.)SFX: "BANG!!!" ..."A-ha you missed me!" where you go straight into "I Know You Miss Me" (or whatever that song title was) by Culture Club.

3.)SFX: "RIP!!" "Uh-oh! there goes my reverberating camshaft..don't know what that means but it sounds cool!" going out of "Freeway of Love" by Aretha Franklin which you jokingly referred to as "Freeway of Lunch....LOOK OUT!!!!"

God bless 'ya Waud!

Whoa, we gotta have a beer some day KF, you totally blew me away and triggered memories of things I had long forgotten. Geez, someone was really listening way back then, I'm humbled. Thanks for caring enough to listen and to really make my day! Now it's jolted my memory like it was yesterday, man thanks for the visit! I feel like I know you yet I know better but thanks for your investment in me and my words...I don't know what else to say.

Never can tell where you will see a great radio talent...My wife Dana and I ran into Suzi at the Speedway in Etna on Saturday. I got to hug a radio legend in front of the frozen Mt. Dew Machine!
