Suzy Waud

Hey All

Brand new here. I happen to have 1 hour mas o menos of Stereo Quad Suzy Waud on 92X from an evening in August 1983. Also have Mark Daniels & others from the good old WXGT days. Also vintage Sunny 95 - the complete '84 countdown w/ Chuck Martin (faeturing the voices of then morning team Rob Stadtler & Marty McNeal) taped during the Buckeyes' Rose Bowl game Jan 1, 1985. Great Stuff.

All on cassette tape...not very computer saavy...see the issue? Suggestions?

Regards

Hi girl. So strange. Was thinking about you recently and wondering how you are and then tripped across this forum. Glad to hear you are a self-employed person working from home. It is my near future goal. Doing well here. Miss you. Thank you for the times.

Used to work in the biz in the 70s & 80s but never made it to the Dayton and Columbus market. O'Malley and Chad on 92-X aired my aircheck in 1986 on their "DJ Star Search" where I led most of the way before I was beat out by a college student in Elsie town. I came close to doing graveyard shift at WING(Z-93's AM sister)but a part timer was hired from within. I threw in the towel when I got burned out from small town radio politics. By that time I had two young-uns in diapers and one more a couple of years later who is now graduating high school and JVS on Friday. Used to chat with Dr. Dave and Wild Bill over at Z when I did freelance voicers for "Radio Ranch AM-1130" WCTM.

Used to pull in 92-X in Piqua..in fact (present day) WCOL-FM can still be heard here on my car radio if you're not downtown near the river.

Loved the WNRJ aircheck...but you were still full-tilt to the hilt on 92-X....sad to see the former WCOL-AM (now CC's WYTS) at the bottom of the barrel these days.

Supposedly Chad went back to Ft. Wayne, got hitched and got out of the biz like I did.

Marty McNeal. Forgot all about her. Whatever happened to her?

Never can tell where you will see a great radio talent...My wife Dana and I ran into Suzi at the Speedway in Etna on Saturday. I got to hug a radio legend in front of the frozen Mt. Dew Machine!

Wow! Wish I had been there with a camera. I haven't seen Suzy since about 1984. Of course I was just part of the crowd so it's not like I actually knew her, just know of her and glad to have said I was in the same crowded room that she was in. I was in the U.S. Navy during this time and I remember recording a bit of 92x so I could listen to it while I was out at Sea (no radio stations in the Atlantic). Think I wore that tape out playing it over and over again, and yes, it just happened to have Suzy Wad on it.

Love to hear another Friiiiidaaaayyy

Hey Franq

WOW! Stereo Quad Suzy Waud on 92X airchecks floating around out there? I would love to get my hands on her's and some other choice Columbus Radio Clasic Airchecks.

Willing to pay a reasonable price for airchecks of Suzie Wade, Terry Tyler, Chuck Martin, Tom Kennedy, Bob Nunley, J Parker, or any other high energy jocks from the 1970's-1980's.... Send me a message

Just ran across this link and just had to pass along my THANKS to Suzy Waud for giving me the radio bug when I was a teenager in Columbus! It was so very cool to hear a strong, female personality on the air back then....Suzy Waud (and also Sue Wiggins at QFM) were big influences on me getting into radio. I'm off-air now just doing VO, but as Suzy said in an earlier post, radio is a hard demon to shake! ;)

Well if anyone would have air checks of Suzy Waud.... it should be her.
So if Suzy is still checking out this forum thread, here is a question for her.

Suzy, do you have any air checks from 92.x days?

I figure asking the source is has the best chance of an answer.
