Swedish DJ Avicii Dead at 28

Swedish EDM/Country Crossover artist Avicii has died

Avicii was best known for his 2013 megahits "Wake Me Up" and "Hey Brother". He was 28. He was found dead in his hotel room in Muscat, Oman. Cause of death unknown.

Avicii, a megapopular Swedish DJ and musician who produced a medley of Top 40 hits over the past few years, has died at the age of 28. Per a statement obtained by Variety, Avicii — born Tim Bergling — was found dead in Muscat, Oman, on Friday afternoon.

As Variety notes, Avicii had retired from touring two years ago, owing to health reasons due an excessive drinking problem.

And 'Wake Me Up' still airs on almost every Adult Contemporary and Hot AC station in the nation to this day. RIP Avicii and condolences to his friends, family and the millions of fans he had.
