Sweet Richard

Does anyone have any idea what ever happened to Sweet Richard? He did mornings on WCUE in Akron back in the early 1970s. I met him in 1980 while going to broadcasting school. He tried to talk me out of going in to the business and get a "real" job. Thanks for your time.

I certainly remember Sweet Richard, but believe he took his own advice and left radio after WCUE.

And if you met him in 1980 at WCUE, you saw some of the station's last days as a top 40 outlet. Not long after, it flipped to MOR/Music of Your Life/big band. A half-hour weekend specialty student radio show played top 40 on Sunday mornings for about another month...

And now they're telling us the world is ending in two months! ;D

If you visit Ann's Pastry Shop in Wadsworth, try one of their famous cream sticks. Then look up behind the counter. You will see a clock advertising WCUE.
