Swing 88.5 pirate Beverly/North Shore

Noticed an unlicensed broadcaster at 88.5 last night and again today in Beverly...fades when you head toward Danvers/Peabody on 128, poss. in Beverly, Manchester By The Sea, etc. Swing/standards (often instrumentals, stuff like medleys of When the Saints Go Marching In,
Volare, etc.; Auld Lang Syne... but also for some reason Robert Parker's "Barefootin'". Played
same song both last night and today: Sinatra, or someone like him "The Way You Look Tonight")

No identifier, just songs

Yup, that sounds like the intermittent one I first heard on 94.9, then another time on 87.9, then back on 94.9, and now on 88.5

I don't think its The Wave guy. He even said that signing on 94.9 right on top of 100,000 Watt WHOM would be a stupid move and that whoever did it is asking to be caught.

I spoke to the Wave guy's wife she said he's in Springfield working on 3 house's that he just picked up and is starting to rehab but will be back on Monday.

And speaking of pirates, an article in yesterday's Herald talked about the need for the black community to be enthusiastic and support Pres. Obama and Gov Patrick and there is a quote from
"Charles Clemons, who co-owns Roxbury radio station TOUCH 106.1 FM". Technically I would add the word "illegal" just before "radio"...

Yes, the print media and many community leaders in Roxbury seem to regard TOUCH as a legitimate station on par with licensed broadcasters. This "stick your head in the sand" attitude among some, and deliberate failure by others to label it as an illegal station really concerns me. No matter how you feel about how TOUCH is serving the community, as opposed to a WILD, the latter still has a license. The former doesn't.
