Switch audio sources

I'm looking for a very inexpensive way to switch between two audio sources using a momentary closure from our automation system. Specifically, this will change sources feeding our streaming audio computer. It will feed normal program output 99% of the time, but we'll occasionally need to switch to a another live source to cover programming we are not cleared to stream. This station has zero budget so I'd be willing to buy a few parts and build something myself. I'm thinking maybe a latching relay. Any schematics or pointers to extra-low-cost audio switching devices?

Thanks!

latching relay to switch between sources would work fine. Program two pulses in automation: first pulse latches relay to alternate feed, second latches back to program feed.

I would place it in a box of some sort with external switches so that you can manually make the change if you wish; I would also use a couple LEDs as tally lights to indicate the position of the relay.

However, if your only going to use it during LIVE programming, you could use a "regular" relay and a simple switch. During live feeds, use the switch to energize the relay and pull it for the alternate content.

Or if you want to go with something manufactured, get a small switcher from RDL, Henry Engineering, or BTools (as noted above).

EDIT:I assume your automation is not already using a BTools switcher, correct? If it use, just use the external source relays to switch. I do something similar for an all news station. When a specific feed ends, a relay closes on the BTools switcher and starts a downtimer.

I used a latching relay and it worked great for years. Be sure to power it from a UPS unit or some source of power that will stay on if the power flashes off. I forgot about doing this and when the lights would flash off the program source would change because the relay came unlatched.

Why beat your head against a wall trying to build something? This is what you want:

LR-5, 5 pole latching relay, one pulse to latch, one pulse to open. Run audio through 4 of the poles, use the 5th for an indicator led. $59. You will need to find a box to put it in. This is a mechanical latching relay, so even if you lose power it stays where it was last put. Even if you get fancy you can come in for well under $100.

I use one for switching audio on an EAS (one decoder--two stations, this handles the second station).

Thanks for the tips! Looks like the Broadcast Tools LR-5 would be perfect. It lists for $59. Even this little station should be able to afford that!
