Switching Teams-er, Networks

...going back overseas, I can think of two comedians and one comedy team -- Benny Hill, Dave Allen and Morecambe & Wise -- who all made the jump from the BBC to ITV without a substantial change in their shows' formats...

Rocky And His Friends/The Bullwinkle Show went back-and-forth from ABC to NBC then back to ABC between 1959 and 1973, then briefly returned to NBC in 1981-82.

When "Too Close for Comfort" went into syndication, wasn't it renamed "The Ted Knight Show" before Knight's passing in 1986?

Yeah to make it a bit clear, it entered first run syndication as "Too Close For Comfort," in the last season it changed formats, dumping the daughters and having Ted, his wife and son and Monroe relocated to the suburbs north of San Francisco.

There was also a short run on CBS during one Summer in the late 80's or early 90's.

Also, I believe The Price is Right was brought up about haivng runs on all of the big 3 networks. I believe I read somewhere once that there were only 3 game shows that have been on all the big 3 networks:

TPIR (ABC 50's and early 60's, NBC 60's, and CBS 1972 to present, also various syndicated nighttime runs)
Password (CBS 60's, ABC early 70's, NBC late 70's and 80's, and back to CBS for the current million dollar version)
Match Game (NBC 60's, CBS 70's, syndication early 80's, back to NBC as part of The Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour mid-80's, ABC early 90's, and syndication again in the late 90's)

Add FAMILY FEUD to the tri-network list.

ABC (1976-1985)
CBS (1988-1993)
NBC (Summer 2008)
Syndication (1977-1985, 1988-1995, 1999-Present)

You're right, I forgot that. It's interesting that all 4 were Goodson-Todman creations.

Hmmm...anyone here familiar with The Uncle Floyd Show?

Cable Access -> Local UHF (Channel 68, East Orange/Newark, NJ) -> Late-Night Syndication (WNBC-4, right after SNL) -> NJN (New Jersey PBS) -> Cable Access.

Weird. David Bowie says John Lennon was a fan (they'd hang out and watch at The Dakota, where you could apparently actually get Channel 68...)
