...the New York Times is reporting that the director/actor died at his Los Angeles home of cancer. In addition to his many classic theatrical films, one of which (TOOTSIE) concerns a TV soap opera's cast, his career started in classic TV on episodes of "The Defenders," "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour," "The Fugitive" (all directing) and "The Twilight Zone" (actor)...
